Robertson hits key milestone on £19m student development
Robertson has completed work on the steel structure for a six-storey student development in Glasgow’s Collegelands.
The S-shaped building will comprise 458 student residences and feature a mix of standard, cluster and accessible rooms.
Constructed for developer Vastint Hospitality, the £19 million project will also benefit from a private courtyard to the south and a semi-public courtyard to the north.
The regional construction company started the design and build project in October and is expected to finish work on the building in the summer of 2018.
David Cairns, managing director, Robertson Central, said: “This is Vastint Hospitality’s first student accommodation project in Europe and it is our job to ensure that their vision is realised.
“Our team has been on-site for around six months and the progress to date has been significant, with the erection of the steel structure a sign of how far we’ve come.
"We look forward to completing the project and seeing the first students move in at the start of the 2018/19 academic year.”
