Our Department of Engineering and the Built Environment has over 30 years experience of delivering high quality surveying, construction and engineering courses in state of the art facilities and a friendly, caring environment.

The excellence of our courses owes much to our team of highly qualified and professional academic staff. As well as being academics, the majority of whom are also experience practitioners, with high-level experience at director, partner, or a senior management level. Many of our staff are also research active, ensuring that our teaching is constantly informed by the latest developments in the field.

We emphasise the vocational aspect of our taught modules and have cutting edge laboratories, which include a materials and testing laboratory, hydraulics, soils and structures laboratories, architectural and planning studios, AutoCAD studio and model making workshops.

In the latest National Student Survey (NSS) many of our courses performed exceptionally, achieving very high overall student satisfaction levels. Our graduates are also highly employable, with 90% in work or further study within six months of graduation (Anglia Ruskin University’s Destination of Leavers Survey 2009-10)

Many of our courses can be studied either full-time or part-time
